F.A.Q.
Will my spray tan go orange?
No! We only use the highest quality spray tan solutions that will not go orange at all. We stock a large range of different solutions and are guarenteed to have a solution that will suit your skin type, and the colour you desire.
What do I do before getting a spray tan?
Shower, exfoliate and make sure you are not wearing any deodorant, moisturisers or makeup. Shave or wax 12 hours prior to having a spray tan. Wear or bring loose clothes to wear after your tan. Most people get sprayed wearing briefs, g-strings, or nothing at all. The less you wear, the less tan lines. We have disposable g-strings available if required.
How long does a spray tan last?
This depends on the solution you choose to use, and your skin type. Some solutions last longer than others, and some people's skin is different to others. Our 'Hot Stuff' spray tans can last up to 2 weeks on most skin types.
Is spray tanning safe for pregnant women?
Yes. Spray tanning is perfectly harmless for pregnant women, though if you have had a child and are breastfeeding, it is advised to wear a bra and not tan your breasts or nipples.
How does a spray tan work?
A spray tan works by the application of the chemical 'DHA'
onto your body, which changes the colour of the outer layer of your skin. The tan fades as your skin naturally exfoliates itself, which is why you should not exfoliate while wearing a spray tan, and why moisturising regularly is recommended to keep your tan fading evenly and to keep your skin hydrated.
How is a spray tan applied?
Hot Stuff Beauty Spray Tans are applied by one of our professional highly trained spray tanning artists. Our spray tans are applied with a special airbrush tanning turbine system. The tanning solution is sprayed by hand onto your body in a light, cool mist. We will instruct you how to stand while being sprayed to ensure a perfectly even tan, with no streaking, dark patches or missed spots. Our tanning method has been perfected by us, and you can be sure of a perfect spray tan every time.
Will hair extensions damage my hair?
Hair extensions CAN damage your hair if not looked after correctly. Any company who tells you otherwise is lying. Most hair extension horror stories come from people who did not look after their hair extensions as recommended by their stylist. We have tried all different hair extension methods on ourselves and can tell you which methods are best for your type of hair, we also provide you with detailed extension care information and product and hair care suggestions. Both Carissa and Beck have been wearing hair extensions consecutively for several years, and have had no problems with hair damage.
How long do hair extensions last?
This will depend on the type of hair you choose, and how well you look after it. Indian and European hair extensions typically last
about 6 months to 1 year before needing replacement, wheras Russian & Virgin Russian hair extensions can last up to 1 - 2 years with proper maintenance and care. The tips of your extensions will possibly need rebonding a few times if you intend to wear them for this long, which typically adds an extra hour or so to your maintenance time.
What is the difference between the hair types?
The difference is the quality of the hair, and how much effort is required to look after your hair extensions. The Indian hair is naturally darker, and so has been processed more to acheive most of the colours available, which will result in them needing more hair care effort put in by you to keep them looking and feeling soft and natural. The European and Russian hair extensions have not been processed as much and so feel more natural and require less effort from you for day to day wear.
What does "Remy" mean?
The term 'remy' means that the hair extensions have been specially put together with all the hair cuticles are facing in the same direction, which ensures no tangling & matting of your hair extensions.
How often do I need my hair extensions maintained?
You need to have your hair extensions maintained every 2-3 months. This will depend on how fast your hair grows, and how well you take care of your extensions. The more often you have your hair extensions maintained, the less risk you have of damaging your own hair. If your extensions are left for too long without maintenance, your hair can begin to matt at the roots which can cause hair loss when the extensions are removed. Hair extension maintenance normally takes around 1.5 - 2 hours for someone who has their extensions maintained every 2 months.
How long does it take to apply hair extensions?
It takes about 2 hours to apply a full head of hair extensions, though this can alter slightly depending on the method chosen, the amount of hair being applied, and the clients hair type.
Do I need to do anything before getting extensions put in?
Make sure your hair is clean and dry. The day of having your extensions applied, please wash your hair & scalp well with shampoo, but don't use any conditioner anywhere near the roots of your hair.
What products should I use on my hair extensions?
We will provide you with a hair extension care brochure instore, which reccomends the best products to use on your hair extensions. Avoid any hair products which are high in alcohol or protein, as these will dry your extensions out and cause them to become knotty and stuck together. You need a shampoo rich in silicone for hair extensions to keep them smooth and soft. We use and recommend Deep Muk Products, which we sell instore and on this website on our products page.
Do hair extensions hurt?
No. Sometimes they can feel a little bit tight & uncomfortable for the first couple of days, but you get used to them very quickly, and after a while, you will wonder how you ever lived without them!
What happens if the hair extensions fall out?
It is normal for some of your hair extensions to fall out in the 2-3 months you have them in, though most people find they lose none at all, wheras some lose up to 10. If you lose some hair extensions, just keep them and we can re-apply them when you have your hair extensions maintained, or individually for $1 per extension (by appointment).
Are hair extensions difficult to look after?

If you follow the directed instructions and let the lashes fall off naturally, or remove them with an oil-based makeup remover gently, you will have no problems what-so-ever. If you decide to pull them off though, you can take some of your natural lashes with the extensions. Please try not to do this. No eyelashes is not a good look.
